Following guidelines set forth by the majority of in-network health insurance plans, choose this option if you are experiencing:

Covered Conditions are limited to musculoskeletal conditions and pain syndromes:

Musculoskeletal Pain Syndrome defined: Conditions with associated musculoskeletal signs and symptoms related to a sensation of hurting or strong discomfort caused by an injury, illness, disease, functional disorder, or condition. Musculoskeletal Pain disorders are typically categorized as structural, degenerative or inflammatory disorders, or biomechanical dysfunction of the joints of the body and/or related components of the neuromusculoskeletal system (muscles, tendons, fascia, nerves, ligaments/capsules, discs, and synovial structures) and related neurological manifestations or conditions.

In order for us to properly bill your health insurance plan, we must follow your plans' guidelines. If you are experiencing any condition not related to the above, then choose the non-insurance acupuncture options.

Looking to use our Celluma Light Therapy device for anti-aging, wrinkles, or acne treatments? This is the category for you.

Pelvic Floor Acupuncture and Dry Needling

Treatments in this category are for patients experiencing pelvic floor pain. Dr. Aaron and Dr. Taylor are currently the only Licensed Acupuncturists certified in treating Pelvic Floor Disorders.

Cupping Therapy

For patients that are looking for purely cupping therapy, this is the category to choose from. Cupping by itself as a treatment modality is often not covered and does need to usually be bundled with acupuncture in order for it to be billed and covered by most health insurance plans.

However, if you're looking to relax and get cupping therapy by itself, choose this category.

In-Body Composition Testing

Looking to test your body composition? Our In-Body 770 allows users to test their body water, body fat, and muscle composition and track it over time. Each reading includes a mini-consult to go over results and definitions.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine officially came into my life during my third year at the University of Texas at Austin while pursuing my Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology. I was stressed during midterms and was taking Claritin due to seasonal allergies. A friend of mine introduced me to South Austin Community Acupuncture during this time and after my first treatment, I instantly felt relief. I felt more calm and was able to think more clearly and the symptoms of my allergies such as runny nose, itchy red eyes, etc. were greatly reduced.

Seeing and being taught the limitations of Western Medicine and Pharmaceuticals during my undergraduate career, I realized that Traditional Chinese Medicine and its holistic view of the human body was more in line with my passion for helping others. However, I firmly believe the each medicine complements the other and the integration of both can greatly benefit every patient.

Combining my interests and hobbies of fitness, food, meditation, and helping others, I furthered my education by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer, CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, Certified Primal Health Coach, Certified Medical Qigong Practitioner, and Certified Sports and Orthopedic Medicine while here in California.

I enjoy helping people achieve their health goals by integrating nutrition, movement, meditation, and Traditional Chinese Medicine into my treatment plans. A good life is ultimately about balance and I hope that I can share that knowledge with all of my patients.

Dr. Aaron is treating on Saturdays and Sundays 9 AM-5 PM and Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 AM-6 PM. Dr. Aaron is fluent in English and some Mandarin chinese.

Dr. Kevin’s passion for healthcare started at a young age when he grew up messing around with herbs, plasters and needles at his uncle’s TCM orthopedic clinic in China and witnessing his grandmother, an obstetrician, provide integrative and effective eastern and western treatments for her patients. His interest deepened in college when he used cupping therapy to relieve a classmate’s shoulder pain, solidifying his calling. The COVID-19 pandemic further fueled his desire to be on the front lines of disease prevention and treatment. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a doctoral degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University. Outside the clinic, he is a provider at Sutter Health’s Integrative Medicine unit, where he treats inpatients, and a faculty member at FBU, teaching review and assessment.

Dr. Kevin specializes in internal medicine, pediatrics and neurological-emotional disorders, utilizing acupuncture, fire cupping, herbal medicine and pediatric tuina. His ideal patients are those in not-so-ideal conditions. He thrives on the challenge of treating patients with complex, multifaceted conditions, where Chinese medicine’s holistic approach excels in addressing multiple symptoms at a time. He enjoys the challenge of the intricacies and excitement of the“unusual, unexplained and unknown” or of patients presenting with a long list of health issues.

Dr. Kevin’s treatment philosophy is rooted in the belief that physical, emotional, and social aspects of pain are deeply interconnected. He understands that chronic physical pain can lead to emotional distress, which in turn can cause social withdrawal, further intensifying the pain. His holistic approach integrates emotional well-being and social support, reflecting his commitment to providing care beyond physical symptoms only.

When not treating patients, Kevin is riding his thoroughbred, IP, swinging a mallet on the polo field, walking his pomsky, Mahjong, feeding his two cats, March and Clicker, or singing in the shower. Dr. Kevin is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
